My thought is he is an a-hole just seeking attention. If he has problems with the custody agreements and such there are ways to deal with it that don't make him look like a jerk off.

Alright here's my take. I don't think this is about the kidney. I wouldn't want my kidney back, but I would want monetary compensation. Why? Because I gave you part of my BEING...we're not talking about a couch here. I saved your life and you repay me by going out and cheating on me??? He's standing up for men in the legal system, and I applaud him.

The fact is, the vast majority of the time men are screwed in the legal system in divorces and child custody cases. Women AUTOMATICALLY get at least half of our stuff, including stuff that was ours BEFORE the marraige. On top of that, we have to pay you alimony so that you can continue "living your lifestyle". What happens if the woman makes more money than the man? Do we get alimony?....NO!

Then, onto Child Custody...there are still places in this world where men are automatically left out with no consideration what so ever. Take Lake County here in Ohio (one county north of me)...automatically, men get only every other week visitation. That's standard and CANNOT be modified even if the mother wants the father to be more involved.

Men get treated unfairly and it needs to change. Good for this guy for taking a stand.

BUT he did not have to give her the kidney. I agree that a lot of the time men get screwed, and I also agree that it is her fault that she cheated on him, but I think that there would be alternate ways to handle this. It was his decision to give her the kidney, he didn't have to. he did it to save the life of the mother of his children, which she will always be regardless of what their personal relationship is like. There are no taksie-backsies with body parts.

lol no taksie backsies thats funny!

While I agree that men can get screwed in court, asking for a kidney back? Seriosuly?
Besides men don't give alimony everywhere anymore. Its only done if it can be proven that the woman quit her education because of him (she worked so he could go to school) or if he cheated and it can be proven. Same with the woman giving alimony as they are required to here as well. I don't know other states, but that is how it is here.

Custody, yes many judges still give to the woman no matter what. Well in equal situations, I do agree with it sorry... of course if its not equal then it should go to the more qualified parent.
my father was also refused custody by court for me when I was little, so I get it. He was told that I was in danger but not enough..... go figure

Okay I agree Steve that a lot of places men get screwed legally in divorces. However I think this story is just ludicrous. He isn't standing up for men in the legal system he's being petty. For the record both my ex and I left our marriage with what we came in with and split the rest and neither gets alimony. I think the participants and who has the better lawyer make more of a difference.

This story is ridiculous. The judge should throw this out the second they walk in to the courtroom. Like others have said, he isn't doing this to fight for men that are screwed by the courts. He is doing this for himself. If he weren't, he would not have put a price tag on the kidney.

Besides, couldn't the ex-wife countersue him for attempted murder? I mean taking the kidney back would inevitably kill her (since she needed one in the first place). That sounds about as ridiculous as him wanting the kidney back.

I am waiting for the first Gay divorce to hit the national news where they start fighting over kids and everything else like a hetero couple who hate each other's guts. It would be kind of funny if kids are not involved.
