I think that the twins are ready to move to bigger seats and I was told that it's a great idea to buy convertibles.
Does anyone have any recs?

You can't go wrong with Britax Marathons, or any Britax convertible for that matter. However, keep in mind the Britax Roundabout only harnesses up to 40 lbs.. All their other convertibles harness up to 65 lbs. and have taller harness slots, which is good for bigger and/or long torsoed kids.
Recaro has nice seats also, but they tend to be more expensive than Britax and harder to find. More recommended seats here:

Personally, I would avoid anything made by Dorel (Cosco, Eddie Bauer, Safety 1st). They tend to have short harness slots, twisty harness straps and recalls.
Also, get something with a 5 pt harness, which is safer than car seats with a 3 pt. harness/over head shield.
