I posted in teh pre-teen section as well, but what are your teens curfews?
Don't have teens, but I probably will set curfew based on the activity.
I.E. they are going to see a movie, home by 11.
they are going to a party and call to check in, home by 12 maybe.
just depends on what they are doing I think.

When I think of the early teen years, there will definitely be a curfew, but as they get older, I think I'd be more likely to relax. When you're a junior or senior in high school, 12 is relatively early. I didn't have a curfew for my entire 4 years of high school and I never gave my parents any grief because they knew that I was responsible. I can only hope the same can be true for my kids.

My daughter is 15. She has a general curfew of 9 on weekdays and 10 on weekends, and then that can be extended depending on the occasion/event.

yay I think mine would be like Teresa. 9 on school nights and a little later for weekends. It does depend on the child as well
As our children enter their teen years, their curfew will be a little earlier and definitely enforced. I can see us giving them a 10:00pm or 11:00pm curfew on weekends. Of course certain activities may make us change that from time-to-time. As they get older we will relax our restrictions based on their age. And of course I would like to think we will be able to trust them so that shouldn't be a problem.

No teens yet, but there will definitely be curfews. Probably 9 pm on school nights and midnight on weekends. Possibly later, depending on the activity.
When I was a teen I wasn't allowed to go out at all on school nights, unless for a sports practice or game, and had a 12:00 curfew on weekends, 1:00 a.m. if I went to a concert, due to distance and traffic. If I was just 5 minutes late I got into big trouble. I was so glad when I went away to college and could come and go at MY leisure. LOL!

If your child has any kind of social life in high school, 9 is way too early. Like I would have laughed if my dad was like be home by 9. A lot of the time I was at the library or at study groups until like 11, so I can attest to 9 being super early. The latest I think I ever came home was like 3 and that was on Homecoming night. I came home early after prom. EARLY!

I'll be flexible for some things, but since the bus for Jr./Sr. High comes at 6:40 a.m., I don't think a 9 pm curfew on school nights is unreasonable. I'll also make allowances if they have a job and work nights. Of course, I may change my mind when my kids are older, but everyone I know who has kids with little to no curfews have teens in trouble with substance abuse, the law, STDs and pregnancy. NO thank you.

oh Penn, your parents are just lucky you were a good kid then. Most cities have curfews anyways and most you cannot be out after 9 or 10 without a parent anyways. I was a good girl in high school. Rarely did anything that I would consider innapropriate, though there were times. But I do know the ramifications of letting young kids do what they want

My daughter has a social life, but NOT past 9pm during the week. She has to be up at 6am, so she goes to bed at 10pm, by her choice. On weekends, she can stay out later, if there's a specific reason to be out...NOT just to be hanging out somewhere. Around here, the homecoming dance is over at 11, so she was home by 11:30. When she's a junior and/or senior, and wants to go to prom, that's an almost two day event. There's the dance, the after prom party, the breakfast, and the trip to Kings Island.
