So yesterday I was standing outside talking to a neighbor when a lady pulls over and asks me if I have a carseat for the new baby. I tell her I don't yet. It turns out when she had her baby late last year she got two Graco Snugride infant seats and never got around to exchanging it. She was on her way to donate it when she saw me and figured she'd ask. It is brand new- never been opened and she gave it to me. I checked online for any recalls on it and found none. The Lord works in mysterious ways because honestly I didn't know how I'd afford a new seat. On top of it she's going to go through her girl stuff and bring it over for me and (I know this shouldn't be important but it is) the carseat is pink! My girls all had neutral colors in case I had a boy (since I didn't find out) but this time I really wanted pink.

Here is a pick of the same one I have.

I am going to have a carseat inspection later in August- just to be safe.

The seat should have a date of manufacture on it somewhere. If it is still in the box then the box will have the date on it as well. You can check that to make sure that it hasnt expired. It will probably look like a run on number. Mine had the date as 072908 took me a bit to figure it out lol

Yeah I found it on there. It also has an expiration date (which I hadn't noticed on the other girls) which said July 2014.

That is great that it had the exp. date. Neither of the 2 I bought did just the manufacture date. So that means I had to count on my fingers up to 5 years to see when they expired lol

It would never have happened in California- I'll tell you that. God definitely was watching out.

That's great! And it likely means it's only a 2008, cuz most of the models I've seen have a 6 year expiration date.

Yeah it is. It has the manufacture date on it too. I doubt the baby will be in a bucket in 6 years LOL!

Very cool! Does it have a front harness adjuster? Did the woman save the instruction manual? If not, you can go to GracoBaby.com and print them out.

Some Graco Snugrides only go up to 20 lbs. and some go to 22.

It came with the manual included because she never opened it. This one says 5-22 pounds. I can't believe how much nicer this one looks that the one I used with Natalia just 2 years ago. The base seems more secure.

That is great news. Just pay it forward when you get the chance. I have always found it helps down the road.

I so believe in that. God answers some unexpected prayers. Any chance I get I do try to pay it forward.
