It was pretty interesting. I weighed in at 144.8 and he said that was okay- it's perfect weight gain considering I was 100-115 pre pregnancy. Got my Group B strep swab done. He was a little concerned that my history was not included in the midwives notes. For instance the fact that I had a history of pre-eclampsia (Isabella), premature birth (Josephine), the use of vacuum extraction for Isabella, and the fact that after every birth I have developed a fever would have made my points to high to be seen by the midwives and I could have been sent to him earlier. The midwives had no notes on any complications I had with Isabella- he had that info because he was my doctor in the past. He doesn't think I'll have another issue like that but it should have been in there. There were also no notes about treating my bladder infection but I was able to give him that info. The other thing was the note to give me the MMR vaccine once again after birth though I expressed I didn't want it again. Obviously it is never going to take and I got it just two years ago and five years before that etc. He said there was no reason to do it again- my body isn't immune but no amount of shooting is going to make it happen. We discussed my birth plan and the tubal ligation and he went over pros and cons of doing it post partum or at my 6 week. For my situation we decided post partum would be best because it means only one hospital stay (six weeks would mean another over night) and he knows he can do it the same day (depending on when she is born) where as the midwives didn't know (and I would not be permitted to eat or drink while waiting.) Both he and I know my labors do not tend to drag out so I have his on call number. He said to write out my birth plan and bring it in next week. I felt a million times more relaxed (my BP even showed it.)

I have my birth plan written. I have almost a week to review it. I think I covered all the bases. I feel braindead these days.

Pregnancy seems to enhance the normal mom brain I swear LOL!
My OB called birth plans "C-section" plans. She said anyone that came in with a birth plan ended up with a CS, and she stopped taking them. I was nervous at first, but she was AWESOME and I ended up with everything the way I wanted anyways so that was good. I am glad you had a good appointment though

that is scary!
Not like she gave them a CS because they had a birth plan! It just turned out that way. And you know what? I was thinking about this - every single person I know that used the bradley method ended up with a section.

Okay so I told Zara every detail in my birth plan. Call me superstitious but no c-section here. Zara said she'll be the mean lady while I am incapacitated LOL!

lol, I didn't study any method. lol I'm a slacker!
Now I noticed all the people who went in for a "medical" induction because they were 40 weeks 2 days and obviously could not have the baby on their own, ended with sections!

I went to a birthing class with my friend Krista who had her daughter Robyn six and a half months before I had Isabella. That was it for me LOL!
Yeah I didn't do any type of classes either, though Mike just told me the other day he wishes we would have because he didn't really know what was going on the whole time or what to do. that was my fault, I just figured we didn't need to go since I'd done it before, but didn't think about him. Bad wife, LOL!
