if you are having lunch and your child does not want what you are having, do yo make them eat it anyways, do you let them eat whatever they want (mac and cheese and chicken nuggets are a face) or do you allow them to eat what they want but it has to be a healthy alternative?

Depends. Often we will make Laney try new things, if she doesn't like it after giving it an honest try we will sometimes make her something else. Sometimes she has what we are having and that's the end of it. Sometimes if we are eating something we know she really doesn't care for we will make her something different. Laney loves chicken nuggets and fries. It has now gotten to the point that she can have one or the other, if she has chicken nuggets, she has to have fruit with them or is she has fries, she has to pick something other then chicken nuggets to eat with them.
Megan eats what I feed her so we don't have that problem...yet.
If Hannah doesn't like/want what I make her only alternative is cereal.
PS - I don't buy sugar cereal, only cheerios, life, kashi, etc.

for lunch I give Nichole options. For dinner, she eats what we eat unless like above, its something she really doesn't like, like spicey foods) then she can have something else.
we don't do sugar cereal either, well I guess we kinda do sometimes, like this wek I let her get Golden grahms, kinda sugary kinda not lol

For lunch they can choose what they would like. For dinner you get what I serve. I do make exceptions for spicy or strong flavored food.
