This is just an update regarding hayky3126 (real name Becca). Recently Becca had some problems with her e-mail account and someone was able to gain access to it. That person then showed up here acting like Becca and requesting some changes be made to her account. Since we thought it was Becca, we made the changes. They were nothing drastic so there was no need for concern. When the truth came out and the real Becca contacted us, we changed things back. She also reset her password and changed e-mail addresses. Everything seemed to be going well until what appears to be the same person was somehow able to get into Becca's new e-mail account.

She is very concerned about these events and has no idea who specifically was able to get into her e-mail. She believes it is someone she knows but that is as far as she has gotten. As a precaution, she has decided to have her account here disabled for the immediate future. We obviously have a concern because we want to ensure that this site is 100% secure. And honestly it is. If anyone ever finds out your password, they can login here just like you do. Security of the site is not an issue since they practically had the front door key. However, that does not change the fact that these events happened. For the time being, Becca's account has been disabled. We all certainly hope that Becca is able to stop the intruder from continuing to cause problems for her. It would be nice to have her back some time in the future.

For all other members, it is wise to use a password that is not easy for someone else to figure out. Never use a password that contains your child's name in it. Since we commonly discuss our kids, it would be far too easy for someone to try to use that. It is recommended that you use something that contains both letters and numbers and is not an actual dictionary word. For example, maybe use something like cZE8KUppx. If you ever have any concerns over the security of your account or even this site, do not hesitate to let us know. We always make sure that the forum software is up-to-date and we have several behind the scenes tools in place to monitor suspicious activity.

No problem at all. I hate making an announcement like this and honestly I normally would not have done this had this been on a different forum. However, many of us come from a different parenting forum that randomly bans people for unclear reasons. Even though I often joke about bringing out the ban stick, or banning people, I would never do it without justifiable cause. I know you guys trust us but I don't want to scare anyone into thinking we are following in that other forums footsteps. I guarantee that'll never happen.
