Thread: New Member Limitations

There are some limitations that new members may experience and we want to make sure these are known and documented. These limitations only affect any member with less than 10 posts. The reason for these limitations is to help reduce the problems that are caused by spammers and spambots (computers that automatically register to post their garbage). By having certain things limited, most spambots won't even be able to post. We set the limit to 10 because spammers typically won't get past that number and honest good members will. I will update this thread if anything changes and if anything needs to be included in the future.

You must have 10 posts before you can...

• Include links in your signature
• Include images in your signature
• Create an Album and upload pictures to Albums
• Comment on other users Album pictures
• Can post Visitor Message to other users profiles
• Can create your own Social Groups
• Can add Tags to new threads
• Post links and images within threads/posts

You must have 200 posts before you can...

• Access the 'Off The Record' private discussion forum
• Access the 'Photo Album' private discussion forum

We hope these limitations will not prevent you from being an active member of our community. These limitations truly are here to help reduce and eliminate the garbage that you may have seen at other similar forums. We have a great track record of keeping that unwanted stuff out of here and we take pride in knowing that these rules, while simple in nature, do work quite well.

The 200 post limitation is simply something that helps the longer standing members reach a target to access two private areas of the forum that are not accessible by visitors and members with less than 200 posts. By having the number this high, we are certain that anyone accessing those forums is truly committed to this forum and is someone we feel very comfortable with discussing private issues with. This includes people that prefer to not post pictures of their kids online due to search engines finding them. None of the threads and posts in those two forums can be found unless you have 200 posts to be able to access them.

Thanks Jenilouise. I appreciate it. I honestly thought we had something like that already. Now it should be easier for new members to see what is and is not allowed when they first register.

You know I thought you did too. Maybe it wasn't sticky or just added to another post. Still this is good.
