so my friend was in an accident. So minor though! Like dented the bumper (plastic) just a bit, like 300 bucks to repair damage. The other car had a small ding on it. But they turned it over to the insurance of course. My friends insurance (they were not at fault) said that they are replacing both car seats that were in there, it was a marathon and the base for a chico key fit 30. Just he base. BUt they are replacing both seats anyways. My friend didn't even ask but she will take! lol
The insurance is Geico, so a bigger company. They are giving her 460 to buy whatever she wants AND they are allowing her to keep noth the base and the other seat. So she called Britax last night and they told her that their seat is still safe. They back their product and that it can be in 10 minor collisions and they will still back their product. Of course if its an bigger crash tehn they want it replaced. i was shocked, as was my friend, that they told her this.
So now she has 2 new seats coming, in which she is going to get a Decatholon and something else she thinks.
Her insurance just needs her to take a picture of the logo on the carseat that was in the accident and send it to them with the reciepts for the new seats. They even told her the brand did not have to match, she can spend just up to the amount she was told.
