The weather is going to get COLD here very soon, and I'm trying to decide what I want to do with Megan. She won't be able to be carried in her carrier from inside to outside, so she needs a coat or something....

BUT I don't want something too bulky for the car seat.

Would something like this be safe?

She's too big for her infant carrier. I need something she can wear to keep her warm to and from the car.

I missed that. I dont know how cold it gets there since I'm in the desert. Maybe just a fluffy blanket . Bubba gets really warm in his carseat. I would think she would get sweaty in that bunting bag. A blanket that could be velcro'd to the car seat so she couldn't kick it off.

I just used a blanket. I got the fleece kind and when I carried to and from the van I just laid it over them and in the van I laid it over the whole child seat and tucked it in a bit when they let me.

Those bags are cute but I would think sweat too for a longer car ride. I'll do a blanket over personally.

Buntings aren't recommended. Neither are any snowsuits, coats, etc. that are thick and/or puffy. They interfere with proper harness fit and function. Also, the insulation compresses during a crash, which equals a loose harness, which of course is very dangerous.

A polar fleece snowsuit would work well or something with thin but warm insulation. I used something like this when my kids were little with a blanket over them.

Well I ordered one anyways, it was too cute. I am going to use it in the stroller though. Her pedi says there's no reason not to take the kids outside even in the winter as long as they are appropriately dressed and there isn't a windchill advisory.

But I think it would still work with the 5 point since it has the slit in both the front and the back of the bunting for the leg strap thingy?
