Thread: JustParents changes name to NowParenting

We are happy to announce a change at JustParents that we believe is necessary for us to achieve our goal as the best parenting resource and discussion community on the Internet. As you have most certainly noticed, our name has changed from JustParents to NowParenting.

We decided to make this change for a few reasons but the most important reason is brand recognition. What is brand recognition you may be wondering? Well, simply put it allows us to be known to a much wider audience by the name you will become familiar with. Think of how Ford chose to name one of their best selling vehicles the Taurus. That car has always been known by the name of Taurus. They certainly did not want to call it a Ford Stratus (since Stratus is a name used by Dodge). So they went with Taurus and it has in the past, and continues to be, one of their top selling models.

OK, so what does this have to do with this forum? We realized that there were other websites out there with very similar names as the one we previously were using. This presented us with a problem. We very well could have kept things the way they were and just made sure that we were the best with the name we had. Or, we could develop this site around a name that is our own which nobody else owns. We can then take things to the next level and really become the very best community for parents. We decided to make the change and that's where we are at today. The name is easy to remember and now we have a name that ends with .com (which for all the Internet geeks means a lot in terms of people remembering how to find this site).

No other major changes have occurred. The same friendly staff are still here ready to exchange their thoughts and ideas on any range of topics that we discuss. You will still be able to find this website by typing in the old website address. We made sure that nobody lost their path to this community and have taken steps to ensure that you can still get here.

The new website address is www.nowparenting.com. Make sure to bookmark this because even though the old name works, it is always best to go right to the correct address. We welcome your comments on this change and please let us know if you find anything on the forum that does not work. We have checked every corner and crevice and we are sure that all links, images, and references point to nowparenting.com. If not, we will quickly correct it.

Thank you Gitti. At first we did not want to change a thing but after carefully considering this for a couple of weeks, we decided to go for it. It's just better all around.

It was a fun challenge to modify the site from one website address to another. There are so many technical things that go along with a move like this. I am just very happy that the site is running exactly the same as it was before any changes were made. I agree about the logo too. It does look nice with the separation.

I'm just glad you know what you are doing!!
