Default NowParenting Security Center

As parents we are constantly trying to protect our children from various safety and security related issues whether they could be hurt while playing outside or while on the Internet. That is why it is important to keep our computers up-to-date with the best protection software any parent can find. Plus making sure our computers run smoothly with little to no chance of viruses, spyware, and other harmful scripts and programs is important not only for our children but for our sanity.

We are happy to announce a new section at NowParenting. We have compiled a list of some of the best software programs to help you fight spam, spyware, and viruses and put them all together in one location. Now if you are trying to find a link to download Ad-Aware or Spybot, you can be sure to locate it in the Security Center.

Click on the following link to take a look at this new section. You can also find the Security Center link at the top of every page on the forum. Along with download links to various programs, we also linked to each manufacturers home page. If you know of any other programs that might be useful to others, definitely let us know. We look forward to having a very comprehensive list available for all of our members.

We are looking for information about applications like NetNanny and other similar parental control programs. If you know of any and are familiar with them, please respond to this thread.

That vaguely looks familiar. I am adding a parental control software section to the Security Center page. How do you like Safe Eyes and have you tried any others?

Mark, I'm not familiar with all the details, as DH takes care of all that, but I do like that it was very easy for me to log onto SafeEyes and block specific web sites. DH actually just took SafeEyes off the DK's computers. Apparently it was too restrictive. I think DH is using the Norton parental controls now, but I'd have to ask.
