Today it was at $3.87 and according to the news there was 2 gas stations in the nearby "city" that had it as low as $3.78

I was so bummed the other day when I put $20.00 in and looked and I had bought 5g of gas
It really is

I usually go to my parents several times a week they help watch the kids and I get a break of sorts but with the prices like they are I am going to have to really cut back on the trips andit will be really hard on me

Kim, if I recall, you & your husband are in gas business. Is it really getting that crazy for you too?

He is, not me! Yes it gets crazy because we lose so much money on gas. we had to set everything to either pay at the pump or pay in advance because we were getting so many drive-offs, and customers complain about the prices all the time. Its not our fault!

I fully understand that filling stations owners/managers almost no control over prices. I never give them any grief, but I have noticed that people are venting on the attendants more frequently. The attendants are just trying make a living and they don't get paid enough to be verbally abused over the price of gas.

With the price of gas, I would imagine that drive off is on the rise. Why rob a store if you can get $50 - $100 by putting gas into your car. No gun involved, just drive away.

so true...people are always complaining to the poor kid behind the counter, and they REALLY have nothing to do with it

ETA: I don't think the owners have anything to do with it either

Regular went up to $4.45 today.

I rarely see gas attendants any more. I have a Speed Pass and always pay at the pump. Regardless, I would never harrass them, because they have nothing to do with the cost of gas.

We have relatives in NJ. Apparently, it's illegal to pump your own gas there. Although that would be nice in lousy weather, I've pumped my own gas for years. If we happen to need gas while in NJ I have to make myself sit and wait for an attendant. LOL!

In the state of Oregon only an attendant can pump gas. I believe the idea behind it is to create jobs for high school/college students who need part time work.
