Oh! I have a Sienna too, just got it not too long ago. I love that thing - even though if you would have asked me a year ago I would have NEVER driven a minivan, lol.

Several states, including New Jersey, have anti-gouging statutes that limit gas pricing, usually during a declared emergency.

But New Jersey also has limits on gas pricing in non-emergencies. NJ Statute section 56:6-2(a) prohibits retailers from raising gas prices more than once a day. And paragraph (b) says "(b) No retail dealer shall sell motor fuel at a price which is below the net cost of such motor fuel to the retail dealer plus all selling expenses." The NJ AG's office sued some oil companies and gas station operators for gouging when prices went up after Katrina.

I don't know anything about a 2% limit for non-emergency gas prices in NJ. I haven't seen 2% mentioned anywhere, but perhaps I am missing it.

LOVE my Sienna! This is actually my second one. We bought our first in '98 shortly after baby #2 was born. Traded it in for a new one in '04.
